This piece has been selected by Alchemy Art Loft and Gallery in Red Deer for their " Light and Shadow Exhibition." Opening reception for this exhibition is August 1/25 from 6-9pm. I invite you to view it live at this event or in the following two months thereafter that it will make Alchemy its temporary home. It is available for purchase and can be claimed to take after the closing of the exhibition at the end of September.

'Golden Hour'
36 X 36 acrylic multi media abstract/ realism painting on canvas set within a stunning brushed gold floating frame.
This painting is a culmination of memories and savored imprints. I was inspired to paint this piece while out on a fall nature walk with my beautiful daughter. The colors in the looming hills and in the rocks at the rivers shoreline inspired me deeply. We were walking along the river valley, the forest hugging its shoreline, the most luminescent colours in the sky lighting up the fall foliage around us, and I said to my daughter ' I must paint this feeling.'
As I began to paint, the movie ' What Dreams May Come' with Robin Williams entered my vision and the song 'Golden Hour' began to play in my mind. The mystical melting of time in every brush stroke... the golden hour of reflection, atonement and peace emanating through the suns warming embrace as it set itself on my canvas.
Golden Hour dances before your eyes. You can almost hear the last leaves of fall in gentle motion and smell the damp sweet wood and musky foliage,.. the ripples on the lake in melody with the magic found in this special one of a kind piece. It is though as wonderful dream has truly come to life in this profound abstract/ realism painting.
